Peer Reviewer Process

Smart Education and Instruction (SEI) is committed to publishing high-quality, impactful research. To ensure the integrity, validity, and scientific rigor of the articles we publish, every submitted manuscript undergoes a strict and transparent evaluation process.

SEI employs a strict Double-Blind Peer Review system. This means that both the reviewers' and the authors' identities are concealed from each other throughout the entire review process to ensure an objective, unbiased evaluation.

1. Initial Desk Evaluation Upon submission, the Editorial Board conducts a preliminary screening to determine if the manuscript meets the basic criteria of the journal. This phase includes:

  • Scope and Fit: Assessing relevance to the multidisciplinary focus of education, business, economics, and social sciences.

  • Originality Check: All submissions are strictly screened for plagiarism using similarity-checking software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate). Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal's threshold (typically 20%) will be rejected or returned to the authors.

  • Formatting: Checking compliance with the journal’s author guidelines and template.

2. The Peer Review Phase Manuscripts that pass the initial desk evaluation are sent to at least two independent, external reviewers who are subject-matter experts in the manuscript’s specific field. Reviewers are carefully selected to avoid any conflict of interest.

3. Evaluation Criteria During the double-blind review, experts evaluate the manuscript based on several key academic parameters:

  • Originality, significance, and novelty of the research contribution.

  • Methodological rigor, including research design and data analysis validity.

  • Clarity of arguments, logical flow, and quality of academic writing.

  • Relevance of the findings to real-world applications or theoretical advancements.

4. Final Editorial Decision Based on the reviewers' comprehensive feedback and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief will make one of the following final decisions:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes.

  • Revisions Required: Authors are asked to make minor or major revisions based on reviewer comments within a specified timeframe.

  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to fundamental methodological flaws, lack of novelty, or failure to meet the journal's standards.
