Focus & Scope

Smart Education and Instruction (SEI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to publishing cutting-edge research on modern educational systems, instructional technologies, and pedagogical practices. Serving as an interdisciplinary forum, SEI advances learning quality across primary, secondary, vocational, higher, Islamic, and professional teacher education. SEI welcomes conceptual frameworks, systematic literature reviews, bibliometric studies, and empirical research employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches.

The journal invites submission of manuscripts that fall within, but are not limited to, the following core areas:

1. Islamic & Values-Based Education

  • Islamic Pedagogy & Philosophy: Theoretical and practical frameworks of Islamic instruction, classical and contemporary Islamic educational thought.

  • Character & Moral Education: Values-integrated learning, ethics in digital contexts, character building models, and socio-emotional learning.

  • Curriculum & Institution: Integration of Islamic values with national/global curricula, governance in Islamic schools (madrasah/pesantren), and Islamic educational leadership.

2. Language & Humanities Education

  • Language Teaching Methodologies: Innovative pedagogical strategies in English as a Foreign Language (EFL/ESL), Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages (TASOL), and Indonesian Language and Literature Education.

  • Linguistics & Literature in Pedagogy: Applied linguistics, discourse analysis in education, literary appreciation, and language assessment tools.

  • Civic & Cultural Literacy: Pancasila and citizenship education, multiculturalism, local wisdom integration, and intercultural communication in language instruction.

3. STEM & Mathematics Education
