Focus & Scope
EBCAS is a peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated exclusively to the publication of rigorously developed case studies in the fields of economics and business. The journal focuses on cases that are firmly grounded in real-world situations and empirical evidence and that demonstrate clear relevance to contemporary economic and business challenges.
The journal welcomes teaching cases and research-based case studies that examine decision-making processes, policy interventions, strategic choices and institutional practices across a wide range of contexts. Areas of interest include but are not limited to business strategy, corporate governance, finance and banking, marketing, entrepreneurship, economic development, financial economics, international trade and investment, and Islamic economics.
Case studies may be based on firms, industries, public institutions, communities or policy settings at the local, national or international level. Submissions should clearly articulate the context of the case, identify the core problem or decision point and provide sufficient data to support analysis and learning outcomes. The journal encourages cases that reflect emerging economies and under-represented regions as well as cases that offer comparative or cross-country perspectives.
The primary objective of the journal is to bridge theory and practice by providing high-quality case materials that are suitable for teaching, learning, policy discussion and practitioner engagement. Submissions must demonstrate analytical depth, clarity of exposition and relevance to economics and business education while maintaining high ethical and academic standards.
